Hi guys,
Yesterday I was reinstalling my arch system and I had issues after installing the Boot Loader.
Apparently I was using the wrong mount point. For me it was not really clear from the wiki which one it should've been.
Now I know it's '/boot/efi', but on the wiki I couldn't find any info about this specific mount point, just some info on '/efi' and '/boot', see:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GR … allation_2
and
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/EF … _partition
So maybe it would be nice to add a note explaining the mount point could/should be '/boot/efi'?

As the second link makes clear, it depends on your boot loader/manager.

indeed that's true, but In my case I used the GRUB boot loader and on the 'GRUB' wiki page there is no specific mount point documented....

You can use any mount point. GRUB can handle the kernel image being on an linux filesystem and thus the reccomendation of explicitly using /boot doesn't necessarily hold true. Contrary to systemd-boot or the EFISTUB method where your kenel image has to be on the ESP in which case using /boot for the ESP ensures the least manual adjustments. It doesn't matter as much for GRUB which is why it open endedly refers to wherever you have your ESP mounted.
Or rather to answer your original question with a question. why do you say "now I know it has to be /boot/efi"? It doesn't, were did you get that from? You can do it that way, but it is in no way a requirement to anything.

ok, then I don't understand why I had problems yersterday
I tried both '/efi' and '/boot', but I couldn't start the system.
On the first occasion I got something like 'Error: no such device .... No such partition..... ', I can't remember
The second one gave me a grub prompt after rebooting....
Apparently I did something else wrong then...

I know (in my case) because it was the only thing that worked for me
I found the info on '/boot/efi' on a couple of sites, to give an example:

I'm the reason that /boot/efi is gone from the EFI system partition wiki page. See Talk:EFI system partition#/boot/efi -> /efi for the rationale.
As others have said, for GRUB the ESP mountpoint doesn't matter.

So you should have came here when you were having those problems and we could have helped. The errors mean something went wrong. But I'm really baffled every time I see someone go from something going wrong that they don't understand to a positive (but incorrect) conclusion about the source of the problem which is precisely what you have done here.
The premises of "I don't understand" and "I can't remember" cannot possibly support any conclusion about the source of a problem (unless it's of the user error variety).
