Sound Glitching and Popping

Hi all,

Have finally decided to try doing something about my terrible sound output in Arch. Audio is perfectly fine if I boot into Windows, but has glitching popping noises at irregular intervals when playing audio in Arch.

It's easiest to show with a recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mo7zsg … Eeqf5/view

That is just a simple sine wave audio that I am modulating to induce pops but it happens with music, video, etc.

I've already tried as per the Wiki:
- load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0
- intel_iommu=igfx_off
- options snd-hda-intel vid=8086 pid=8ca0 snoop=0
- options snd_hda_intel power_save=0

pactl output for the sink:

Re: Sound Glitching and Popping

Can you reset your config to defaults, reboot (or reload the affected programs/modules), then post during problematic playback

pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs

Re: Sound Glitching and Popping

Thanks for checking into it @V1del, sorry for the delay - haven't had time to troubleshoot lately.

I removed the default.pa and daemon.conf files and regenerated them with a pacman install, and ensured there was nothing in /etc/modprobe.d for sound, along with nothing in my bootloader options.
