VSCode / Skype crashes when I try to open file/folder

Hello,

I am using Gnome 3.28.2 on Arch. I am facing a weird problem. VSCode and Skype crash when I try to open any file or folder through the application. On inspecting closer, I got the following error:

windowsService#pickFolderAndOpen
(code:5832): Gtk-WARNING **: 22:19:10.316: Could not load a pixbuf from icon theme.
This may indicate that pixbuf loaders or the mime database could not be found.

Gtk:ERROR:gtkiconhelper.c:494:ensure_surface_for_gicon: assertion failed (error == NULL): Failed to load /usr/share/icons/Papirus-Dark/16x16/actions/image-missing.svg: Unable to load image-loading module: /usr/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/libpixbufloader-svg.so: /opt/visual-studio-code/glibc/usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.28' not found (required by /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2) (gdk-pixbuf-error-quark, 5)
Server response: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"

I searched through this forum and on Google and have tried out the following until now:

1. Try to install gdk-pixbf, shared-mime-info
2. Try to install glibc
3. Run this command: sudo /usr/bin/gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders --update-cache

This error is not replicated when using the default Adwaita theme. I am facing this error on POP OS Icons and also on Papirus Icons.

Any suggestions?
