Hi,
I no longer have HDMI sound with my ATI card when I connect my PC to an external screen.
I don't even see my sound card in Gnome-center anymore; there is only my default sound card available.
I use Pulseaudio. I tried to re-install it with alsa-pulseaudio but my card is still missing from Gnome-center.
I tried with Pavucontrol and I saw my card turned off in "configuration" tab.
If I changed it for "Stereo output (HDMI) (unplugged) (unavailable)", my card appeared in Gnome-center and it worked properly.
But, at reboot, my card wasn't in Gnome-center and it turned off in Pavucontrol.
How to fix it?
Thanks for your help.

Did you just upgrade your "pulseaudio" package from version 11 to version 12?
Because HDMI sound stopped working for me too. I'm sure it's a simple fix in my case, I just haven't gotten around to looking into it yet. So I did a naughty little workaround and simple downgraded back to version 11 for now, which brought sound back. ![]()
I use PulseAudio, HDMI output to my TV from my Radeon RX 560 video card.
