Can't get spotify to add local files

I'm using spotify-stable ver. 1.0.80.480-2, have zenity and ffmpeg-compat installed (as recommended by this thread), and removed .config/spotify/Users/raffomania-user/local-files.bnk as sometimes recommended in the spotify forums.

Somehow, when I click 'Add a source' in the settings, still nothing happens. I didn't find any other workarounds anywhere. Am I the only one experiencing this?

It works out of the box with the flatpak version from flathub.
