Hello Archers,
Foremost, I'm sorry for my english, I'm french. I will do my best to remain understandable.
I have a laptop and a HTPC under Archlinux since 2011. Both of them runs well until a few days ago, I can't update my HTPC...When I try "pacman -Syyu", I get this
error: failed retrieving file 'community.db' from [...] : Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 10 seconds On my laptop, connected to the same router and using the same mirrorlist (updated by reflector) it runs flawlessly.
I don't change anything : same ISP, same router. same IP parameters. I'm going crazy, the HTPC doesn't want to update !
No matter the mirror I use, same results. The problem appears randomly, sometimes I manage to get 80% of community.db, sometimes only 17%...core.db and extra.db does sync but never community !
I tried to reinstall Archlinux on my HTPC (from the latest image 2018-09-01), same problem, pacstrap do the same ! Can't reinstall...I tried to modify the XferCommand parameter in pacman.conf, same problem with curl or wget.
The only difference between my laptop and my HTPC is the LAN interface, my laptop is wireless and my HTPC wired through a powerline adapter. So, I tried to connect the HTPC directly to the router : same problem !
I thinked that the NIC or the SSD can be dead, so I decided to try installing Debian on my HTPC : installation and download worked fine !
What do I miss with my Archlinux install ? I'm desperate, any ideas?
My NIC is
Ethernet controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 v2.0 Gigabit Ethernet (rev c0) and it seems to use the atl1c kernel module.
Thx for help !
