I just installed Gnome 3.30 on Arch and am have an issues that has been recurring since 3.26 was released.
I am unable to log out and then log back in. If I log out and then try and log back in, it hangs, eventually crashes, and brings me back to the login prompt. In 3.26 this was fixed with a gnome-shell update. Then it came back in 3.28 and somehow got fixed. Now it's 3.30 and it seems to be back again.
In 3.26 I had this issue with anything that took you out to Gnome shell, including waking from sleep or open and closing the laptop lid. I was never able to log back in. Since that cost me a lot of work back then, I have reverted to KDE for now.
Is anyone else seeing this? Running Gnome on Wayland.

Do you mean login to Gnome 3.30 without Wayland or actually disable Wayland for GDM?

it's about turning off the wayland session for gdm i.e:
WaylandEnable = falseOffline
Got it. Turned Walyland off. I seem to have lost the option login to gnome using x.org. Is this normal if you turn Wayland off for gdm. Then you can only login to gnome via x.org?

Using x.org didn't help. I logged out and am unable to log back in without rebooting.
