GNOME Desktop broken with blank screen (but working cursor!)

Hi all,

My installation of GNOME desktop seems broken, unfortunately! It must be something wrong with the GNOME DE, because I can start GDM and run Cinnamon and Deepin on it, so it shouldn't be my video driver or GDM going wrong. Also, there seems to be nothing weird in the logs.

The way my GNOME goes wrong is also unusual. I get a blank screen but I can see my cursor. I have Skype starting at desktop, and Skype launches fair and well, just without the window borders showing up. I can even quit Skype and right click on the blank desktop, and the right-click menu shows up, just that I can't open the terminal from the menu. I can also use shortcuts to get GNOME help up, again without the window borders. This is a really weird way to have a broken GNOME desktop environment, but I kind of want it back.

Could the package be broken, for instance, in some way?

OK, problem solved after removal and reinstall of all GNOME packages, but I do not know why. Since there seems to be a post about accountservices being buggy, I kept it at  0.6.50
