I'm using GDM and after a pacman update my cinnamon didn't start. He stared my gnome fallback instead.
I wasn't able to figure out why cinnamon didn't work, so I downgraded - one by one - the last updates.
It seems that the accountservice (0.6.50 -> 0.6.53) update stops cinnamon from working. After a downgrade cinnamon starts again.
Actually, I only wanted to post it so others can get a running system again. When I have time, I'll have a look why it doesn't start with the new accountservice update.
(Downgrade with pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/accountsservice- )
