I have a librebooted thinkpad x200. When I boot up Arch I get the error Failed to start Load Kernel Modules and then when I see the tty-login I get:
[ 9.426275] SMAPI not supported (ID=0x57)
[ 9.426324] tp_smapi init failed (ret=-6)!
[ 9.520213] SMAPI not supported (ID=0x57)
[ 9.520260] tp_smapi init failed (ret=-6)!
I've had this issue for a while now. Thought maybe a couple -Syu's would eventually fix it but it hasn't. I've looked through the wiki and found nothing. I want to set charge thresholds for my battery and the only way I can do it is through tp_smapi.

Is the firmware you flashed the system with supposed to support tp_smapi?

If by firmware you mean libreboot, yes it should. No where does it say explicitly that tp_smapi is not supported. Also, I did not always get this error. It only started appearing within the last 2 months or so I assume that is doesn't have anything to do with libreboot because it used to work before.

I have the same problem with a T400. tp_smapi loaded and worked just fine up until about a year ago.
