Hello together,
I have a, at least on my opinion, rather strange problem with my Canon MX925 printer. If I just start one print and wait until it is finished and then start the next one everything is fine. But if I start shortly in sequence multiple prints such that they have to go into the printing queue, i got an error after each print. If I go to the settings and click restart after each print everything works fine. I use an up to date arch with cups and gutenprint5.3 installed. And I print over WiFi.
Maybe some of you have an idea what is wrong here. If you need further information please do not hesitate.
Kind regards
bgth

You get *what* error exactly?
Also see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CU … leshooting - for your error as well as on increased logs / log inspection.

Hy seth,
thank you for the link. I changed the output level and checked the log files, as written there, but could not find any error in error_log and page_log but in access_log I got the following output after starting three prints and restart printing after the first print, see line 69. To be honest, I have no idea what to do with this. It is also strange, that I have to restart the prints as root, see last line.

After a reboot and another bundle of test prints i could find in error_log
E [11/Oct/2018:18:10:41 +0200] [Client 94] Returning IPP client-error-not-possible for Cancel-Job (ipp://localhost/jobs/106) from localhost.
Maybe this gives a hint.

You've to restart cups (or reboot) to change the log config.
Is that the *only* line in ther error_log??

Hy seth,
yes this is the only line in the errorlog.

So the communication fails w/o any precondition…
Can you try printing over ethernet and/or usb?

After reinstalling cups everything works fine. I guess it messed something up in the configuration. Thanks to all.
