hp compaq nx9000, ati and direct rendering question

Hi,
I have Radeon IGP 340M onboard my laptop and I can't figure out the way to enable direct rendering. I use "radeon" driver from xf86-video-ati package. Any suggestions? This is my glxinfo output:

Re: hp compaq nx9000, ati and direct rendering question

Hi mdv,
try to add (if it's not present) this section in your xorg.conf file:

Section "DRI"
        Mode 0666
EndSection

The file is under /etc/X11 directory

Make sure to load the right agp module for your chipset.

Re: hp compaq nx9000, ati and direct rendering question

$ lsmod | grep agp
ati_agp                 6796  1
agpgart                23884  2 drm,ati_agp

Seems it's the right module. I've lost all the hope. Thanks anyway for your help.

Another try:
do you have

Load "dri"

in your xorg.conf file?

Re: hp compaq nx9000, ati and direct rendering question

Sorry for the simple question but: Are you in video group?

Also, it might depends on the order the modules are loaded. That's the case with my Intel card. Try loading agpart first:

MODULES=(!agpgart !ati_agp agpgart ati_agp ...)

Re: hp compaq nx9000, ati and direct rendering question

My MODULES line was: (agpgart ati_agp ...)
After I changed it into (!agpgart !ati_agp agpgart ati_agp ...) it makes no difference. Still does not work.
