Hi all,
After upgrading today and installing the new kernel and installing the new AMD drivers, AMD graphics wx3100 using the pass-through on KVM, restart the virtual machine ,I've noticed literally thousands of these sorts of errors in my journal:
dmesg log:
Oct 22 12:33:54 node16 kernel: DMAR: DRHD: handling fault status reg 2
Oct 22 12:33:54 node16 kernel: DMAR: [DMA Read] Request device [05:00.0] fault addr 86114a6000 [fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set
Oct 26 11:54:24 node16 kernel: DMAR: DRHD: handling fault status reg 102
Oct 26 11:54:24 node16 kernel: DMAR: [DMA Read] Request device [05:00.0] fault addr dc0870e000 [fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set
Oct 26 11:54:24 node16 kernel: DMAR: [DMA Read] Request device [05:00.0] fault addr fffffff000 [fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set
Oct 26 11:54:24 node16 kernel: DMAR: DRHD: handling fault status reg 300
I'm not quite sure when the "DMAR: DRHD: handling fault status reg 2" lines appeared, Also, it doesn't specify that Intel-IOMMU was enabled as in the wiki page, but only a "IOMMU enabled", but I guess that shouldn't matter as long as it finds IOMMU groups afterwards.
My /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-snd.conf is
blacklist snd_hda_intel
blacklist amdgpu
blacklist nouveau
blacklist amdkfd
blacklist amd_iommu_v2
cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-4.19.0 root=UUID=xxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-dd16d97f3de1 ro crashkernel=auto rhgb quiet intel_pstate=disable idle=halt iommu=pt intel_iommu=on nouveau.modeset=0
I've googled that the errors should dissapear after setting intel_iommu=off or intel_iommu=pt kernel parameter but for me it's not working at all.But later I found out that my amf encoder components were prohibited from Windows system and that the kernel was upgraded to 4.19.I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or an AMD graphics driver problem.
What can I do?
thanks!
