Cannot start Plasma Wayland session.

In SDDM, if I try to start a Plasma Wayland session, nothing happens. It just returns to SDDM again.

I'm not sure why this happens. I use an Intel GPU.

Running 

XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland startplasmacompositor

returns:

That's just the sddm log, you don't get anything else after trying to log in?

To start a Plasma on Wayland session from a console, run 

export XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland && export $(dbus-launch) && startplasmacompositor

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I've tried that, to the same results.

Running a nested 

kwin_wayland --xwayland --exit-with-session=konsole

works, but a full Plasma session doesn't. The full Plasma session shows the splash screen and then just blank.

Neither Plasma not a single program like Konsole works in a non-nested context, though.

It appears that running 

export XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland && export $(dbus-launch) && startplasmacompositor

as a nested session works sometimes, but not always.

Still no luck in non-nested sessions.
