flickering

Hello.  I have an acer laptop wih a SiS graphics card.  The display is widescreen.  Well, whenever I watch videos, be it dvd's or .avi's, I get flickering. Sometimes it minor but other times it can get really distracting.

My current resolution is 1280x800.  Can someone help me with this?
