[Solved] 4.19.2 kernel broke sound

So I no longer have sound after upgrading to the 4.19.2-zen kernel. Odd things is, when I playback a file in deadbeef, the stream will play, just no sound. My card is recognized under the options in deadbeef, and alsamixer says so as well. I downgraded to 4.19.1-zen2 for now. Just wanted this to get put out there.

Re: [Solved] 4.19.2 kernel broke sound

This is also affecting the ARCH kernel build. I’m trying to think what logs I could look it that may clarify some things. When you say logs, are you referring to “dmesg” and “journalctl -b” logs? What all would you like me to provide? Xorg logs won’t help here.

BTW, I’m using a ASUS sound card hooked up via PCIe.

For example, yes. You might also want to post sound related information like

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
aplay -lL
#If using pulse
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs

I found it, somehow my analog output got set to headphones instead of speakers. Sorry for the assumption.
