Plasma on Wayland: Graphics Hiccup

Hello,

with the release of Plasma 5.14 I switched from X11 to Wayland with over all satisfying results. Though occasionally, my Plasma session experiences a graphics hiccup. UI elements like dialogs, menus and sometimes whole apps start to disappear from the screen, showing whatever they have covered instead. Moving the mouse pointer over such an element (e.g. a button) makes it reappear, moving past the element makes it disappear again. A simple ALT-TAB redraws the window back to normal, though not for long. Most of the time a hiccup is triggered when navigating the KMail settings, extending to any other native wayland app afterwards.

My system has an Intel HD Graphics 520 (Skylake GT2) with OpenGL 4.5 Mesa 18.2.4, no custom module settings for i915 in place. I am starting Plasma from console with:

XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland exec dbus-run-session -- startplasmacompositor

I already tried different compositor backends + tearing prevention without success.

Does anyone have a suggestion?
