Kernel panic during upgrade. Keyboard not working, even in resque CD

I got an kernel panic during an upgrade earlier today. Afterwards the keyboard stopped responding during boot.
I dualboot Arch linux on a Surface Pro 4. Keyboard works fine in windows, and in grub, but stops responding when i am prompted for LUKS password.

I have tried using an external keyboard, so i guess i can rule out Surface Pro 4 related problems?

This is the output from the installed system.

:: running early hook [udev]
Warning: /lib/modules/4.19.2-arch1-1-ARCH/modules.devname not found - ignoring
starting version 239
:: running hook [udev]
:: Triggering uevents..
:: running hook [keymap]
:: loading keymap...done
:: running hook [encrypt]

A password is required to access the crypt volume

The problem persists even when i boot from Arch live environment. Which i find very odd.
I have tested the resque environment on another computer to confirm nothing is wrong with it.

At this point i have no idea how to proceed.

Do any of you fine folks have any tips?

I think your surface pro missing a module for this. Reference to this issue with the same problem and same device.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

This is not the same issue as it does not just affect the typecover, but external keyboards aswell.
Everything worked fine until the kernel panic during and update.
Now everything linux related seem totally unresponsive after the bootloader.
