Hi there,
After upgrading the system with pacman, I can't boot anymore. I get some error messages and get stuck into the terminal for trying to repair the system. Here are some of the errors:
Mounting boot /boot...
mount: /boot: unknown filesystem type 'vfat'Mounting /media/F
fuse: device not found , try 'modprobe fuse' firstI tried to update the system using pacman, but pacman is broken too. Some libraries are missing.
pacman -Syu
loading shared libraries: libkeyutils.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryTried to fix it chrooting, but it doesn't work, since pacman is broken.
Would you please help me to fix this?
Thanks.

Please upload your entire /var/log/pacman.log and post it here.
Also post your /etc/fstab.

But something went terribly wrong w/ your update and you should seek to understand the error before fixing it - and rule out a dying HDD, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SMART

[2018-11-21 02:03] [PACMAN] starting full system upgradeWas this the pacman run that caused the issues or is it missing from the log?
Have you run a S.M.A.R.T. self-test to check the status of the storage device?

There seems to have been a clock change here:
[2018-11-21 01:19] [PACMAN] Running 'pacman --color auto -Sy'
[2018-11-21 01:19] [PACMAN] synchronizing package lists
[2018-11-21 02:03] [PACMAN] Running 'pacman --color auto -S -u'
[2018-11-21 02:03] [PACMAN] starting full system upgradeFirst, stop using yaourt. It's ridiculoud process is prone to all sorts of problems that will result in partial upgrades and much breakage. In theory, it is supposed to run -Sy followed right away by -Su, and most entries in the log show it doing just this: the -Su immediately follows the -Sy. But in this last entey, there was just under an hour between yaourt running -Sy and then later running -Su. A clock change is about the only thing I could think of that could cause this.

Ok. But how could I fix it?

Okay, so for some reason your keyutils package has seemingly vanished -- pacman has no record of its removal, and yet it didn't get updated during your last transaction (it's just been updated, and moved to core/ from testing/ on the 20th), and now pacman can't find the shared library it provides.
Firstly, I would boot a liveCD, check the storage integrity as loqs suggests.
Then (all things being well) mount your root and boot partitions (e.g. as /mnt and /mnt/boot), and then use the live environment's pacman to do another full system update, reinstalling keyutils and the kernel in the process. Use pacman's --root flag to facilitate this, e.g.
pacman --root /mnt -Syu linux keyutilsFinally, check the integrity of the other packages on the installed system using
pacman --sysroot /mnt -QqkkReinstall any that have missing files.

When running
pacman --root /mnt -Syu linux keyutilsI get a list of errors like
could not open file /mnt/var/lib/pacman/sync/core.db: unrecognized archive formatThen, it tries to download the keyutils package, but an old version (1.5.11-1) and I get an 404 error, since the last version is 1.6.x.
Any tips?

What was the output of the SMART self-test?
Please post the output of `pacman --root /mnt -Syu linux keyutils 2>&1` from the console using the tip from Pastebin_clients
Also the contents of /mnt/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
Edit:
adjusted mirrorlist location to add in /mnt/

Why does it stop at
:: Proceed with installation? [Y/n]? Did you not proceed?

Missing tee from the redirection so dicaiopolis had no output?
Edit:
pacman --root /mnt -Syu linux keyutils 2>&1 | tee | curl -F c=@- https://ptpb.pwhopefully keep the output visible and also save it to file.

Yes, but then I get a huge (it doesn't stop) list of 404 error, since the last version of keyutils is 1.6.x. and there's no version 1.5.x on the mirrors anymore...

If the mirror list being used was from /mnt/etc/pacman/mirrorlist that you posted it has 11 uncommented mirrors so there should be 11 404 errors.
How many uncommented mirrors are there in the install medias mirrorlist etc/pacman/mirrorlist ?

I mounted root in /mnt and boot in /mnt/boot. 'etc' was supposed to be mounted in /mnt too. The list of mirrors is huge it doesn't stop showing the same 404 error. Please, see an image here: https://ptpb.pw/BQtb.jpg

pacman --sysroot /mnt -Syu linux keyutilsDoes the above produce only 11 404 errors?

No, much more than that. There's some inconsistency here, but I can't figure it out. See the picture in my previous message.

I saw the picture but switching from --root to --sysroot I hoping pacman would use /mnt/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist with only 11 active entries.

Using --sysroot gives:
pacman: unrecognized option '--sysroot'Offline
You can't run it from an ancient ISO

keyutils is at 1.6, I'd say the bogus db archieves spoil the db update, thus operating on dated versions.
Move away everything in /mnt/var/lib/pacman/sync/ and try again.

@seth what if the iso is so old the pacman version it is providing uses the previous db version?
