I just bought my new Nvidia card "ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 Mini" and I have low FPS in some games.
I just finished playing Outlast 2 with steam proton at 60 FPS without any problems. Now, I started playing my old games such as Lord of the Rings Online, Guild Wars 2 and I also tried "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty", (a native Linux game) and my FPS are very low. What I suspect is that those games are running in 32-bit. I believe I need to install the lib32-nvidia-utils to make those games work, which I have done.
My installed packages are
nvidia-lts 1: 415.18-1
nvidia-utils 415.18-1
lib32-nvidia-utils 415.18-1
nvidia-settings 415.18-1
What could cause low FPS in these games but not in Outlast 2?

Old games that are using DX9 will not get a performance boost from Proton, because Proton is based on DXVK, and it is translating DX10/11 calls to Vulkan API calls but not DX9

Guild wars 2 and Lord of the Rings Online are working perfectly under wine + I played those game with my integrated graphic card with better performance than right now with my 1070. Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a native Linux game so it does not use proton. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something, a package or something else.

What's the output of
glxinfo32 | grep OpenGL #Needs lib32-mesa-demosalso terminal output of an affected game?

The problem seems to be random. I just played for 3 days without any problem and this morning, the problem was again raised. I restarted my device and the problem was gone. I'm still not sure if it's a driver problem or the card itself.
Note: I have not yet encountered this problem on Windows.

"dmesg" after this happened; also ensure it's really the GPU and not eg. some indexer sucking away your CPU or IO etc.
