MATE. Win-key.

Does anybody know, how to setup win-key in mate to launch and close Application menu?

System > Preferences > Hardware > Keyboard Shortcuts.

It will not let me assign just Win key as it appears to me a modifier key (like shift key).  I did assign Win-Z to open the menu.

Yes, I know about it. So, it's not possible to set a single Win-key to open a menu?

Re: MATE. Win-key.

I tried it once in Xfce, but with mixed results. In System Settings, added a shortcut like Win+Z. With the help of gconftool, I looked for the key and modified it to work without the letter (Win key only). It sort of worked for a while, but then broke (?). As an immediate effect, all other shortcut combinations including the Win key stopped working. (Apparently, the key down event triggers the shortcut already, thus preventing composed shortcuts.)
