I actually did not catch it at first
Anyhow, I am totally surprised how / had gotten so full. I am pretty sure that just 2 weeks ago, I had about 12 GB free space (out of 40).
I worked through Cleaning the package cache but only got back 2.2 GB so far.
So by using baobab, I identified /var/log/cups having a size of 18.9 GB.
The problem is error_log, which grew to about 17 GB. What can I do to stop that?
Some info:
$ pacman -Q linux
linux 4.19.4.arch1-1
$ pacman -Q cups
cups 2.2.9-1Offline
Ensure that cups is tarted (typing lpq in a terminal will do). Point your browser to http://localhost:631 Go to Administration. Click Advanced in the "Server Settings" option. You will see an option to set the maximum log size. But I am surprised. It is set by default to 1mb. Have you changed it in the past?

It was set to 0.
I have not changed it.
Wanted to change it to 1mb, but was prompted to enter login details. Will have some reading to do.

For the login, give the root one (and password). I suspect 0 mean "unlimited" (but I am not sure).
