Standards for multiple gcc versions

I'm working on a PKGBUILD for an app that provides a gcc5 version in addition to the standard version. Is there a standard of even just a suggested convention for having both packages such as appname and appname-gcc5.

Why would anyone ever want a version whose uniqueness lies in which version of gcc it was compiled with?
