I've noticed that the fonts in Arch look a bit.. off. They seem to have colors surrounding them, creating this weird effect that makes all the "white" fonts look weird.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. The font used in this photo is Fira Mono; but it's a problem with all the fonts.
The orange and blue colors make the text look really weird and forces me to switch to thicker fonts, which have more white and therefore make the effect less prevalent.
Is there a way to change the fontconfig to get around this issue?
Thanks!

This may be related to subpixel rendering.

I know, I've checked that page multiple times by now.
My screen uses normal RGB subpixels, and it has 93 PPI at 1920x1080 resolution.
All my fontconfig settings are at default.

I realised that a zoomed-in image is probably not the best way to represent the problem with my subpixel hinting.
Again, thanks for any help.
