[SOLVED]Firefox 64.0-1 crashes with gtk3 3.24.1+155+g4c8fcd6a6f-1

Hi all, I'm a fairly new Arch user so I thought I'd post this here as I may need a bit of hand-holding.

After a pacman -Syu upgrade today, the following were installed:

Firefox then crashed upon start. Firefox generated a crash report which I've pasted here: https://pastebin.com/VqALf4C2

When launching Firefox from the command line, this is the output:

I downgraded the new packages one at a time and tested and found that downgrading gtk3 to 3.24.1+8+g220f77d8c1-1 enabled Firefox 64.0-1 to launch again.

edit: I should also mention that Firefox 63.0.3-1 also wouldn't start with gtk3 3.24.1+155

I used the automated Firefox tool to send Mozilla the crash report but should I also launch an Arch bug report?  Thanks for any help or advice!

I have the same bug on my system. Downgrading gtk3 also fixed my issue. Thanks for posting the work around.

Not seeing the issue on this system.  Could you check if it is extension related by testing a clean profile.  `firefox -P`

Thanks for that, it put me on the path to find the issue. 

I made a fresh profile and Firefox was able to start with gtk3 3.24.1+155.  I added my extensions and themes back one by one and was unable to make it crash so I was scratching my head a bit.

I then went in to the 'Customize' menu and unchecked 'Title Bar' and this caused it to crash.  I then reloaded 3.24.1+8 and checked the 'Title Bar' setting in my original profile, reloaded gtk3 3.24.1+155 and Firefox was able to start.

So it looks like this is an issue with Firefox so I'll mark this as solved as I've already sent the crash report to Mozilla.  Thanks again for your help!

I've had the same issue with gtk3-3.24.1+155+g4c8fcd6a6f-1
It crashed firefox when I tried to do anything, like url search, accessing settings.
I've also seen that some other softwares, like nvidia-settings, have the same crash issue.

This looks to have been fixed with the upgrade of gtk-update-icon-cache 3.24.1+155+g4c8fcd6a6f-1 -> 3.24.2+1+g2905fc861a-1.  I'm now able to upgrade to gtk3-3.24.1+155 without Firefox crashing.
