KDE Massive Screen Tearing

Hi,

Following a recent update, KDE has become totally unsuable. There is constant and absolute screen tearing. Immediately after logging in via SDDM, the screen flashes constantly between the SDDM screen, the KDE desktop and the lock screen.

The KDE desktop is mostly black with fractions of the screen visible and totally unusable, have to get into tty to be able to restart sddm.

Logging in with KDE/openbox presents no problems.

Macbook Pro 2015 with Intel Iris graphics.

Re: KDE Massive Screen Tearing

Sounds similar to the problem I've been facing for the last couple of says : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=242724

What graphics card/driver are you using? Are you using compositing and, if so, does turning it off help?

Re: KDE Massive Screen Tearing

Thanks!

Disabling Composition fixes it. I also tried switching from OpenGL to software rendering; it was significantly better but still mostly unusable.

Using Intel Iris 6100 graphics with the Mesa driver.
