My current xkb setup is quite an adhoc mess mimicking the Planck keyboard with left alt replaced with LVL3 Shift to access a layer of symbols and right alt replaced with mode switch to access a layer of navigation keys. Anyway, the current issue is the following line in my symbols file:
key <AC01> { [ a, A ], [ Escape ]};
With Escape in there, the alt+a shortcut no longer works (similar if Escape is placed on another key), either in the terminal to go to the front of the line or in a textbox to select all. ctrl+shift+a still works. If a ctrl+a keyboard shortcut is created and deleted then regular ctrl+a works again. This issue seems to be isolated to my laptop; no issue on my desktop, though I'm not sure what distinguishes the two.
Any suggestions?
