Fan not detected Asus Zenbook UX461UN [SOLVED]

Hello,

I have an Asus Zenbook UX461UN and the fan is not detected, even though asus-nb-wmi is loaded.  It is also successfully acting as a driver for the keyboard brightness.  It just finds that there are no fans.  dmesg output:

[ 2.631543] asus_wmi: ASUS WMI generic driver loaded
[ 2.641649] asus_wmi: Initialization: 0x1
[ 2.641764] asus_wmi: BIOS WMI version: 9.0
[ 2.641844] asus_wmi: SFUN value: 0x21
[ 2.644166] input: Asus WMI hotkeys as /devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/input/input8
[ 2.644663] asus_wmi: Number of fans: 0

There is no pwm file in /sys/devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/hwmon/hwmon2/, the hwmon file on my computer.  In its subdirectoreis, however, there is a subfolder in the subsystem folder which has no files and whose name file just reads asus.  The rest are temperature sensors, corresponding in name to the heat sensing devices in the sensors output.
Running lsmod | grep fan returns nothing and running lsmod | grep asus_nb_wmi returns the following:

asus_wmi 32768 1 asus_nb_wmi
sparse_keymap 16384 1 asus_wmi
rfkill 28672 8 asus_wmi,bluetooth,cfg80211
wmi 28672 3 asus_wmi,wmi_bmof,mxm_wmi

Output of sensors repeats that there are no detected fans, and also that the temperature is fairly low, which is good considering that the bios itself can run the fan and should still be doing so:

Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +33.0°C

acpitz-acpi-0
Adapter: ACPI interface
temp1: +36.0°C (crit = +103.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 0: +37.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0: +36.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +36.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 2: +37.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 3: +36.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

pch_skylake-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +32.5°C

Is there a way to detect this fan?  If not, can I safely ignore it given that my computer is not overheating, given that I install freon or some such to keep a constant eye on the temperature?

Re: Fan not detected Asus Zenbook UX461UN [SOLVED]

Notebooks/ultra books specifically usually do not allow you to control the fans, that is done by the BIOS. If you don't see an active problem you should be safe to ignore them.

Re: Fan not detected Asus Zenbook UX461UN [SOLVED]

Thank you for the clarification.  However, I am not positive that this is an Ultrabook and it is definitely not a notebook.  It is similar to an Ultrabook though in some regards (thin, has a touch screen, light weight) but it can do heavy computations and has dedicated graphics.  However it sounds close enough and I will ignore the matter.

That is like literally the definition of an Ultrabook.
