Hello all, I just installed arch the other day for the first time and have almost set up everything I needed except for one hiccup. I wanted the computer to lock and prompt me for a password (lightdm login screen) upon suspend/hibernate (it already had this function if the machine was powered off and I turned it on). In trying to enable locking when I close my laptop lid, I have messed up my greeter settings so that the login screen is black. I know it works because I put in the password and it logs me in, but as I said its a completely blank screen now (except for turn on from off state). I have searched extensively on this but haven't found anything that has been able to fully solve my problem (since my screen is now black lol). I would be more than willing to send any config files if you need to help me, but I will give you what I can think of now:
DE: XFCE4
locker installed: light-locker
greeter: lightdm gtk+
#/usr/bin/xflock4
PATH=/bin:/usr/bin
export PATH
# Lock by xscreensaver or gnome-screensaver, if a respective daemon is running
for lock_cmd in \
"xscreensaver-command -lock" \
"gnome-screensaver-command --lock" \
"light-locker-command -l"\
"dm-tool lock"
do
$lock_cmd >/dev/null 2>&1 && exit
done
# else run another access locking utility, if installed
for lock_cmd in \
"xlock -mode blank" \
"slock"
do
set -- $lock_cmd
if command -v -- $1 >/dev/null 2>&1; then
$lock_cmd >/dev/null 2>&1 &
# turn off display backlight:
xset dpms force off
exit
fi
done
# else access locking failed
exit 1thank you for any help you can give me!
