Problems with opencv and python

I am trying to update the pyschopy package [] which is a major upgrade as the code base was changed from python 2 to python 3. While the online documentation looks complete, there seems to be a number of unlisted dependencies. One of them is related to opencv. I can build and install the package but running psychopy gives me

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/psychopy", line 6, in <module>
    from pkg_resources import load_entry_point
  File "/usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/pkg_resources/", line 3126, in <module>

    raise DistributionNotFound(req, requirers)
pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'opencv-python' distribution was not found and is required by PsychoPy

I found a github page called opencv-python [], but I feel like I should be able to do satisfy this dependency with the Arch opencv package and some knowledge.
