Hey,
I am facing some serious trouble regarding the xsession and the recend nvidia driver:
After updating the graphic driver (nvidia)
from 415.27-1 -> 415.27-2, the xsession crashes
directly after running startx.
My graphic card is:
lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E "(VGA|3D)"

How to resolve this problem?

Did you reboot after updating?
If so, was your /boot mounted when you updated?
Mod note: Moving to NC.

Yes I did several reboots after the update and I have repeated the up- and downgrade several times. If boot would not have been mounted, the full system upgrade which included nvidia would probably have gone much worse.
The system is running for a year now without problems regarding my nvidia card so far.

I also have a properly configured pacman hook running, according to the arch-wiki and also renewing 20-nvidia.conf created by
$ nvidia-xconfig
did not help.

Updating 415.27-1 to 415.27-4 solved the problem.
Downgrading back to 415.27-2 brought back the problem => It was a driver issue.
