[SOLVED] KDE Plasma and 2560x1440 external monitor on Intel GPU

Hello,

I've got Acer TravelMate X3 with i5-8250U and its integrated GPU and I would like to use an external monitor (Dell U2414H) at its full resolution, however in Plasma display configuration I can only set it up to 1920x1080. It's connected via HDMI.

HDMI != HDMI what's your cable version?

You might also want to post the output of

xrandr -q

(within [ code ] tags)

Well, to be honest I am not sure about the cable type but I suppose it should be at least HDMI 1.3... it's "Monheim 86652".

The Dell U2414H is a 1920x1080 resolution monitor according to Dell's website. Everything might be running correctly for you if U2414H is the correct model name of your monitor.

You might have made a mistake looking up your monitor's specs, and found something that made you think it's a 2560x1440 monitor.

Can confirm that U2414H (which is 1920x1080) and U2715H (which is 2560x1440) work correctly with Intel iGPU (4 gen I think).

Oops... well my colleague has the exact same monitor (probably not, but it looks the same ) and he has 2560x1440 resolution set on macOS. I guess I'll have to double check the monitor models. Thanks for all the answers, I'll let you know tomorrow.

Ok, so I can confirm that I've made a mistake looking up my monitor specs. I feel dumb now. Thank you all for your help!
