Graphical Problems with intel integrated graphics

So, i have a Thinkpad T420s it has 2 graphics cards a Nvidia nvs 4200M (Disabled) and Intel integrated graphics 2nd Gen (i have Nvidia Optimus Disabled) i tried vesa an intel graphics packages i don't stop seeing graphical bugs/ glitches black stripes in apps, when writing sometimes letters i erased appear and dissappear i get like a square ring around the screen type of thing, all the screen glitches out at times. I've tried multiple Distros, and debian seems the only that works best with my integrated graphics but i don't like stableness i prefer bleeding edge plus i've been using arch like a year or so, i don't want to go back to debian

Re: Graphical Problems with intel integrated graphics

Welcome to the boards.

Which general environment are you running? Which xorg driver are you using? if xf86-video-intel try removing it (or installing it if you are using the modesetting driver). When you see a glitch, are there any error messages in dmesg?

Re: Graphical Problems with intel integrated graphics

Remove xf86-video-intel and any config for it you might've made, KDE has known issues with it, and the modesetting driver that would be used by default tends to work better.

Hi,

Sorry for Reporting you I just missed the Post Reply button because I'm using my mobile phone to talk with you, Sorry :(

I just deleted the Intel graphics driver and my computer it's stuck in the loading screen and it's reporting that everything is Ok but it's stuck . The last line says [ OK ] Reached Target Graphical Interface.

Re: Graphical Problems with intel integrated graphics

You should be able to switch to a console with Ctrl+Alt+F2 or similar, can you post the xorg log resulting from that as well as

journalctl -b

(use a pastebin client)
