Kernel update: shutdown problem

When shutting down Dell Latitude D630 after recent kernel updates, there's a warning that programs are still running and not responding.

Reverting to older kernel solves the problem.

Assuming an error with previous installation I did a fresh install and it was okay until I updated the system.

Both instances have a cinnamon desktop.

This instance:

at-launcher-bus not responding
csd-printer not responding
Cinnamon Settings Daemon not responding

The item(s) were different on the previous installation.

Any suggestions?

Re: Kernel update: shutdown problem

something to do with assistive technologies.
i cannot fathom what a kernel upgrade has to do with it, but maybe you can just disable the service (presumably)?

searching for the error turns up a few hits, most about ubuntu and some gnome-derivate (unity, mate, etc.)
