System info:
Virtualbox: version 5.2.22
Host: Linux mint 19
GPU: GeForce GTX 580
Guest: Arch
Kernel: 4.19.19-1-lts
WM: i3-gaps version 4.16.
I'm in the process of doing my first Arch install on Virtualbox, and can't get compton (version 5) to run. When I try I get this read out:
vsync_opengl_swc_swap_interval ERROR ] Your driver doesn't support SGI_swap_control nor MESA_swap_control, giving up.
vsync_opengl_init ERROR ] Your driver doesn't support SGI_video_sync, giving up.
session_init FATAL ERROR ] Failed to initialize the backend I followed the Arch wiki Virtualbox page to install VB guest additions via virtualbox-guest-modules-arch, and have the virtualbox extension pack installed on my host OS. Everything else is working as expected. I have a very minimal install, having so far only installed the main xorg packages, i3-gaps, urxvt, vim, feh, compton and a few basic applications.
Haven't been able to find any useful theads concerning the same issue, and other than changing the system an display settings in Virtualbox (3D acceleration etc...) I'm at a compete loss.
Any suggestions will be appreciated

In compton.conf I commented out the line:
#vsync = "opengl"; Which seems to have resolved the issue.
