Anyone else play maryo? There's an old version in extra so I tried to install the new version from the website. I can't get the thing to build; make complains about not being able to find header files (that exist).

Building the latest version of that game is a nightmare. I still haven't gotten it to work. I have played it in Windows, though--there is more eye candy than in the version in extra, but in my opinion the movement is more difficult to control, and there are graphical glitches everywhere.

i just tried building it too; it is a mess. (a .zip file for the source code??). autoconf tried to link a bunch of crap to /usr/share/automake, what the heck.

I also tried building it a while ago. It needs a makedepends (I don't remember the name) that is in community repo but the version in community is a devel one and smc will only build with an older stable version. When I realised that, I had spent quite some time on it so I just gave up.

Yeah, I updated it to the devel version brainlessly one night. I'll bump it down to stable

well, my only problem with the current version is that I cannot save any games (even if I have enough points).

Same here, but you get really good at the first several levels that way!

The latest svn makes it linux compatible. You can get it from my repo, you'll need to also install cegui and silly from there too. All SMC files goto /usr/local/ - 38 MB because it inlcudes the music as well

it has been a hard slog trying to get it working so i just figured if it's working then leave it be

i'll try another build and see if placing it in /opt works

Game for children first. Them need menu item, not command line.

Put up a feature request on flyspray and/or mail the maintainer directly, not all devs have the time to read all threads on the forums.
