[AUDIO] TRRS mic doesn't work

Hello,
I previously owned a TRS headphone (two plugs speaker and microphone)
I also have a TRRS earphone
Both of these work completely fine on both phones and on my PC
But When I plug in my TRRS microphone it doesn't work
I could only hear noise

Is there any way I could make the mic work?

Re: [AUDIO] TRRS mic doesn't work

The pink jack on PC soundcards expects signal on the tip or the first ring and grounds the second ring and sleeve (it's a TRS jack, actually).
If a TRRS mic is made for phones, it may have signal on the sleeve and ground on the second ring or vice-versa.
An adapter with green/pink TRS jacks and a TRRS female jack would probably fix it. I've never used or even seen one, but I suspect that such things are made, in order to plug TRRS headsets into PCs.

No, My TRRS earphones work perfectly but my TRRS microphone doesn't.
How come?
If my TRRS earphone works so should my microphone right?

Re: [AUDIO] TRRS mic doesn't work

TRS mic:
T - signal
R - signal
S - ground
TRS hp:
T - left
R - right
S - ground
TRRS anything:
T - hp left
R - hp right
R - ground
S - mic input

To add insult to injury, some manufacturers swap ground and mic, so you can never know.
Your best bet is probably to get a proper TRS mic if a TRS mic is what used to work for you in the past.

Plug any TRS hps into the mic jack. Crank input volume up and shout into the headphones.
If you are able to record sound that way it means that your mic input still works correctly and is meant for TRS mics.
But if you still can't record sound with a good TRRS mic, that surely means your mic input just doesn't support TRRS mics.
