Chromium - omnibox history provider

https://www.chromium.org/omnibox-history-provider

It works to a very limited extent, unlike google chrome. For example:
chromium --user-data-dir=/tmp/test https://news.ycombinator.com/
chrome://history/?q=ycomb   or new tab and type ycomb

Nothing. No suggestions. This is really weak.
What is going on? I need to switch special flags.

Similarly in chromium 72 under debian. The chromium 71 under void linux works in the same way as in Google Chrome.
