Chromium in XFCE: scroll jumping after scrolling in other windows

Has anyone else experienced this behavior with Chromium or Chrome?
Running XFCE; have also reproduced the issue with google-chrome from AUR with default settings and flags.

1. Start with Chromium open.
2. Alt-tab (or click in window chooser) over to some other application e.g. XFCE Terminal. Scroll upwards (with mouse)
3. Alt-tab (only alt-tab causes error here) back to Chromium and attempt to scroll downwards.
Result: Chromium scrolls upwards on the first scroll tick.

Incidentally, this appears to add the total amount you scrolled downwards in the other program to the one tick you scroll in Chromium. For example, scroll up one tick in the other program, alt-tab back to Chromium, attempt to scroll down one tick -> no movement; scroll up one tick in other program, alt-tab back to Chromium, attempt to scroll up one tick -> scroll up two ticks.
Most annoying is when I, say, scroll up a bunch in some other application, alt-tab to Chromium, attempt to scroll down to read something and end up scrolling all the way back up to the top of the page.
