[Solved]'Open with VIM' in right click menu not work

XFCE4 installed with all updated package.
VSCODE, MOUSEPAD, VIM and NEOVIM are all installed.
"Open with MousePad" and "Open with CODE - OSS" are both working fine. But click "Open with VIM" or "Open with NeoVIM" doesn't receive any response. No error, No pop up window. Nothing happened.
Please advice what logs I can use to troubleshoot this problem. Or, how to fix this issue?

find the .desktop files that define the behaviour for "Open with VIM" or "Open with NeoVIM" and post their contents here.

Have you set a default terminal? If you haven't, then it will (AFAIK) default to xterm. Do you have xterm installed?

Actually, I'mt not usre how to set a default termail. Do you have a guide on this?
Here is the output of $TERM

TERM is not related.

Unfortunately I don't have a definitive answer for you. I set my default terminal through plasma's SystemSettings Default Applications submenu, my guess is that xfce4 has a similar configuration manager. If not, I'm not sure how to set it. It seems the XDG mailing list isn't sure either...

it's probably "Prefered applications" somewhere in the Settings, then choose a terminal emulator.

You can try to define your own command i Thunar like

  sakura -e 'vim %F' %f

I use Sakura terminal, substitute with your terminalemulator.

@WorMzy that's interesting. I found I didn't install xterm. After installing xterm, it start working. But the view of xterm is hard to be viewed.
1. I did something to beautify xterm. Now the view of xterm is simliar to terminal simulator.
2. here is another solution. Modify the launcher/shortcut of VIM by Menulibre.

exo-open --launch TerminalEmulator vim %F

And I'll mark this solved.
