[SOLVED] AMD Radeon drivers

I decided to switch from NVIDIA to AMD and now I have some interrogation about my new purchase and using it on arch.

1- WIth NVIDIA, it is usually not recommended to install the driver directly from NVIDIA. Is it the same with AMD drivers ?
2- If I decide to install the drivers from AMD will I be more subject to have driver issues when I update my kernel ?

I just bought my first AMD Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 8G, what would be your recommendation for an ex NVIDIA user ?

What, exactly, is unclear on the wiki page? There are detailed instructions there, just read them.

Arch + dwm   •   Mercurial repos  •   Surfraw

Yes

Yes although there seems to be an implicit assumption there would not be immediate issues when you install such a driver.

Re: [SOLVED] AMD Radeon drivers

So basically the same advice as NVIDIA. Thank you for your quick reply.
