USB devices no longer seen after virtualbox upgrade

I was able to pass USB devices to my VMs before I upgraded to 6.0.4 r128164 from the repo. Now I cannot. For example I have an Ubuntu 18.04 VM with he USB controller enabled but when I click the USB icon on the bottom right hand side of the open VM window it says "No USB devices connected". I have the kernel modules installed and loaded and I am a member of the vboxusers group. I installed the new guest iso package and re-installed the guest additions on the VM from that as well. The output of 'VBoxManage showvminfo' is below. I tried to correct the problem by uninstalling virtualbox, the kernel modules and the extension pack, rebooting, reinstalling and rebooting again. I also deleted ~/.config/VirtualBox/ and created a VM from scratch but I saw the same issue.

Maybe I should have posted this to the vitualbox forums instead but I was wondering if other arch users are seeing the same behavior. Any suggestions?
