Hello .
I'm fairly knew to this, and have only installed Arch one time earlier. That is why this time I want to do it properly and I'm still getting the hang of the process of verifying the .iso of linux distributions.
I'm in this process right now and so far I've:
* Compared SHA1 & MD5 checksums.
* Verified pgp with the use of gpg.
But pgp didn't work at first, and it wasn't until I got hold of the signature of "Pierre Schmitz <pierre@archlinux.de" that the iso could be verified.
As I got help from [topic]226593/[/topic] aswell as [topic]234327/[/topic]
And one thing that really scratched my head, was that all of the signatures had different IP addresses.
https://2a02:c205:3001:3626::1]:443
and my results after running:
gpg --search-key 7F2D434B9741E8AC
and
gpg --search-keys 4AA4767BBC9C4B1D18AE28B77F2D434B9741E8AC
ends up with
Questions -
Is this odd?; or is it just the result of having exported and changed personal computers over the years?
What is the difference of respective keys? (7F2D434B9741E8AC & 4AA4767BBC9C4B1D18AE28B77F2D434B9741E8AC)
