Problem resizing partition after RAID 5 grow

I have added a new 4TB drive to my RAID 5 array for a total of 4x4TB drives. I successfully grew it using mdadm (which took over 24 hours) but after growing the array I cannot expand the ext4 filesystem that is on the array.

resize2fs /dev/md127p1

outputs

The filesystem is already 1953442304 (4k) blocks long. Nothing to do!

lsblk tells me that the filesystem is 7.1T in size which is the same size as it was before I grew the array.

After adding the drive to the array I was expecting to be able to grow the array to approx 12T in size. Any advice?

Re: Problem resizing partition after RAID 5 grow

/dev/md127p1 suggests you have a partition table on that thing (but why?)

in that case you have to grow the partition first ( parted /dev/md127 or whatever partition tool you prefer )
