G-SYNC Compatible monitor feature not working with linux-zen 5.0.0-1

The option to allow GSYNC compatibility is available in NVIDIA X Server Settings and it is displaying as enabled in there as well under device information, yet it does not function in applications where it was functioning using the linux-git 5.0 rc7 kernel.

For reference I am using nvidia-dkms 418.43-5 and was also using it with linux-git. My GPU is a 1070. I have verified that GSYNC compatibility is not working with the refresh rate monitor provided by my display, as well as the fact that applications are not displaying the GSYNC visual indicator in the top right.

I'm curious if I am missing something so I'm posting here instead of filing a bug report. Any ideas? Anyone else having the same issue with linux-zen?

EDIT: It appears to work now but only if you have opened the NVIDIA X Server Settings application and closed it since your last boot. Not sure what's up with that.
