How to activate apps in SW_TABLET_MODE?

I want to activate the qt5-virtualkeyboard onyl in tablet mode. According to Onboard tablet mode is recognized by the machine. Is there a file to add commands to that are supposed to be executed in tablet mode?

Unfortunately https://github.com/alesguzik/linux_detect_tablet_mode did not work for me
