Hello everyone,
Each Btrfs file system has a top-level subvolume with ID 5. It can be mounted as / (by default)
Btrfs has an independent mountable root for the volume (top level subvolume) and for each subvolume
Where I'm confused at, take the scenario below:
Partition: /dev/sda1
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/@ #257
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/subvol1
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/subvol2
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/subvol3
btrfs subvolume set-default 257 /mntvs
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/@ #257
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/@/subvol1
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/@/subvol2
btrfs subvolume create /mnt/@/subvol3
btrfs subvolume set-default 257 /mntFor the former, say I just mount /dev/sda1 /mnt. I don't expect to see subvol{1,2,3}, but I do? Seems to me there is no difference between former and the latter? My question, can someone help clarify this to me?
EDIT:
My goal, I like to avoid populating my fstab, there is going to be allot sshfs/ntfs/cifs/partition entries, and I like to be able to carry it over when necessary.
Cheers,
Regards
