Can't start cinnamon on VirtualBox

Hello, I have a dualboot installation on my laptop with arch and windows, recently I configured my arch dualboot installation  to run on VirtualBox while I'm working on windows.
Everything works like a charm when I use my arch natively but when I try to use a desktop environment different than Gnome (like cinnamon) while it is running on VirtualBox it just doesn't work and it goes back to the login menu.
Does anyone know how can I make it work properly?
