Cannot boot on Lenovo Miix 320

I'm trying to install ArchLinux 64 bits on Lenovo Miix 320, but I cannot even boot in live mode.

The initial boot sequence start, I see the boot menu, but as I press enter, the screen goes black and nothing happens
I've tried to edit the command line, inserting several options, e.g nomodeset, acpi=off, modprobe.blacklist=axp288_fuel_gauge
Sometimes I see an unreadable sideway screen, with a series of dots columns scrolling from left to right
evidently the video mode is not correctly set.
After a while the movement stops and  I see a series of blinking elements (cursors ?)

I must say that I've tried several other Linux distribuitions , (Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Fedora, Mint, Debian, PepperMint ) , having all the same problem

Any suggestion ?

Re: Cannot boot on Lenovo Miix 320

That laptop appears to use an intel atom x5-Z8350 which makes it a "cherry trail" system.

While cherry trail systems tend to work okish with recent kernels, they often need special options.

modprobe.blacklist=axp288_fuel_gauge

That makes clear you have searched yourself, but have you found  https://esc.sh/blog/linux-on-lenovo-miix-320/ ?

if so, did you try with nomodeset i915.modeset=1 as kernel parameters ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Re: Cannot boot on Lenovo Miix 320

Yes, I've seen that page and its  highlighted comment.
Iv' tried hard to install Ubuntu or Lubuntu, but I didn't succeed..
Now I'm trying with Arch Linux, hoping in a better luck.

Perhaps I've not tried your suggestion on Arch linux, surely on the other distribuitions.
This evening I'll try again.

It seems to me that the installation is waiting for keyboard input, but the screen is full of garbage and unreadable
I suppose it should be in a kind of text mode, waiting for selections.
Is It so ?

I've another little netbook, asus t100Ha, with similar structure, and on that machine the installation of Ubuntu went on very smoothly, only whith the last version (18.10)
not with the previous (18.04)

best regards
Maurizio.

Re: Cannot boot on Lenovo Miix 320

Based on the threads i've seen/read while searching there are timing issues with the initialisation of the videocard.
It seems linux kernel interrupts the initialisation of the videocard / videomemory before that has completed.

Have you tried blacklisting i915 module ?

Secure boot?

If not - I don't remember what I did to get my Miix 320 to install Arch.
