makepkg fails error: _Float16 is not supported on this target libc++

Hello, i'm trying to use makepkg on this repository from the AUR in order to install discord: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libc%2B%2B/

it passes all the tests and when it reaches the make step, it errors out with

error: _Float16 is not supported on this target

I had a friend attempt to run makepkg on this as well and he's getting the same error. Last time I installed discord I was able to build this package just fine. Anybody have any ideas? is this a pkgbuild problem?

Welcome to the arch linux forums extrahash.  If you update the pkgver to 8.0.0 and update the sha512sums for the 8.0.0 sources does the package then build correctly?

Thanks for the welcome.

Would I edit that information in the PKGBUILD file? and how would I get the correct checksum for the source code?

Yes edit the PKGBUILD change the pkgver to 8.0.0.  To generate updated sha512sums either
run makepkg -g and copy the generated checksums into the PKGBUILD or
install pacman-contrib if you have not already done so then run updpkgsums
then try building the updated PKGBUILD.
